We are concerned with growing poverty, the loss of personal liberty, and the growth of global corporatism. We believe that government at all levels - especially locally - should be devoting more resources to gardening, sustainable shelter building, and other green work programs -- to help the fast growing number of people who are unable to find work or afford shelter. We believe that the U.S. military industry is way out of control and needs to be reigned in. We believe that we must end corporate electioneering in the U.S. We love Canada and look to you as a better (if not perfect) example of democracy. Parliamentary forms of government are better! We believe that every human being has worth beyond monetary measure. We believe that war criminals should be in jail in the U.S., and that militarism as a way of life must end.
About the Sudbury Working Group
The Sudbury working-group of The Media Co-op was formed to create independent media in the North, to speak to our issues and outlooks on our communities as well as the world around us. Independent media provides an avenue for people who are wishing to gain critical perspective on the issues that matter most to us, and to give a voice to those people and stories that you won't find in the mainstream media.
